Introduction of the Department of Aesthetics

EProfessor Shigesaburo Izumi is experts of ceramic history. He is specialist of Japanese ceramic history and tools of Japanese tea ceremony. On the other hand, he is artist, represented his art works.
EResearch work is concerned with a semiotic view of Chatubo(ceramic jars), signature of Raku Chawan(tea bowls), meaning of tea ceremony tools, interpretation of ceramics in the Japanses Middle ages.
